ASSOCIATIONS PARTNERS

PAN EUROPE

PAN EUROPEPesticide Action Network Europe is a network of ONG which aims at denouncer the impact of pesticides on health and environment, and to promote alternative techniques  that do without pesticides. PAN Europe supports The Week through its large network.


HEAL

HEALHealth and environment Alliance is a European association that aims at promoting a healthy environment to protect people's health. HEAL' network includes over 50 groups of citizens, patients, women organizations, health professionals and environmental organizations from all parts of Europe. Working at the European level, HEAL focuses on air quality, chemicals, mercury, climate change, children vulnerability and other political themes of the European Union that cover public health and the environment.


Ligue pour les oiseaux (LPO) (LPO, or Ligue for the Protection of Birds – in English)

Ligue pour les oiseauxLPO is dedicated to « the protection of birds and their habitats upon which they depend and in particular the associated fauna and flora »; and, more generally, to biodiversity. It acts with the help of its members, subscribers, donors, sympathisers, and the active contribution of thousands of volunteers.


UNAF - Union national des apiculteurs de France (French bee keepers National Union - in French)

Union national des apiculteurs de FranceUNAF is a syndicate of bee keepers created at the outset of the Second World War, that today denounces the systemic use of pesticides and their impact on bees, on all pollinator insects, and at large on the environment. Victims of their repeated direct and indirect effects, bee keepers experience more and more difficulties to renew their bees. UNAF is therefore very attentive towards new pesticides and their marketing authorisations.


Jardiniers de France (in French)

Jardiniers de FranceWith its 50 000 members and 2000 local clubs, the association des Jardiniers de France (French Gardeners association) accompanies people willing to learn gardening or to share their knowledge. For the last four years, this association has focused specifically on acting in favour of the environment. Many gardeners use chemicals, sometimes with heavy dosage. Linked with the Pesticides Alternatives Week, dozens of workshops will be held all over France : favouring biodiversity, practicing straw coverings, associating companion plants, are all techniques that the association's volunteers will discuss during their workshops to reduce the use of pesticides in the garden.


WWF

WWF-FranceAs a branch of a worldwide organisation dedicated to the protection of nature and environment, WWF-France joins the Pesticides Alternatives Week to help awaken the public upon the use of household herbicides.


BUSINESS PARTNERS

Biocoop (in French)

BiocoopBiocoop counts over 300 bio shops around a common aim : developing bio agriculture in an equitable and cooperative mind. Leader of bio food distribution, Biocoop is also well known for its equitable products and for a large choice of ecoproducts and cosmetics. More than a simple shop network, Biocoop also wishes to influence society choices and shares its project with other actors: employees, consumers, producers and partners. Biocoop relays the Pesticides Alternatives Week in all its shops.


Botanic (in French)

BotanicBotanic founders' will is to promote a humane type of business, environmentally respectful. This vision has from the start lead these garden specialists into taking initiatives in favour of nature and environment preservation. Since 2005, le sustainable development is at the core of the company's plan. Thus Botanic has definitely suppressed from all its shops synthetized pesticides and pursue its action in favour of bio gardening.


Fondation Nature vivante

Fondation Nature vivanteLa Fondation d’entreprise NATURE VIVANTE a pour objectif le développement de l’éducation à l’environnement, la promotion de l’agriculture biologique, la préservation de la biodiversité et l’accompagnement des projets de développement durable. Il s’agit d’une fondation dite « active », c’est à dire qu’elle pratique pour l’essentiel un mécénat d’initiative : c’est donc elle qui le plus souvent va à la rencontre des associations ou de projets dont elle peut avoir connaissance par son réseau informel. Ce qui n’empêche pas la fondation de recevoir des porteurs de projets : de ces rencontres qui lui permettent d’alimenter sa connaissance du milieu et de rester en éveil, peuvent naître des envies d’aller plus loin.

L’Ecologiste (in French)

L'Ecologiste is the French edition for The Ecologist (link : http://www.theecologist.org/) (in English). A quarterly review, each magazine is centered around a main study central of around thirty pages. L’Ecologiste contributes to the ecological reflexion and action on the main orientations in our society. It also relays The Pesticides Alternatives Week 2011.

Nature et Progrès (in French)

Nature et ProgrèsNature et Progrès is a consumers and professionals association united in one movement for a bio agriculture respectful of humans, animals, plants and the planet.
